Hello! I'm Mateusz Leszczyński and I am a 2D artist located in Poland. I specialise in whimsical, historical and fantastical themes, with mythological and folklore influences. I create comics and graphic novels, character illustrations, as well as physical merchandise designs - both for clients and for myself as an independent artist.In 2024 I published my debut graphic novel "Cavalieri. Miłość Michała Anioła" with Wydawnictwo Albus. Since 2021 I also independently publish comic shorts and zines both physically and online.I graduated with a Master's Degree of Fine Arts from University of the Arts Poznań (UAP).I have experience leading workshops and classes and I've been a faculty member of my Alma Mater since 2024.I'm open to exciting opportunities in publishing and illustration that bring fantasy into reality!contact: matleszczynskim@gmail.com

The graphic novel Cavalieri. The Love of Michelangelo is a work of the historical fiction genre, depicting a queer interpretation of the relationship of Michelangelo and Tommaso dei Cavalieri.
In the story set in renaissance Italy and spanning a few days and five chapters, the characters get closer to each other as well as their own feelings. The art style is inspired by the renaissance sketches and the contents and plot is the effect of the author’s historical research. The novel contains references to the drawings and paintings of Michelangelo, as well as his sonnets and correspondence. The comic was finalised as a hand-bound book publication of 116 pages.Master's thesis project realised at Magdalena Abakanowicz University of the Arts Poznań, Poland, 2023.
Published with Wydawnictwo Albus in Polish as "Cavalieri. Miłość Michała Anioła" in 2024.
